After-School Special Theatre is a fresh faced theatre company presenting handcrafted productions from our campy improvised "Grandma Shows" to our own hot-off the press plays. No matter what we're producing all of our work strives to be original, transgressive, participatory and fun. We're a collective dedicated to creating theatre that follows the "Do It Yourself" motto, by a large majority we write, act, market, produce and direct all of our own work, which often finds its homes performed in public spaces. We want to view theatre through the eyes of the audience, and try hard to only produce work that will entertain and excite the viewer. As a team, we value theatre that is accessible, extravagant, and experimental. After-School Special Theatre was founded by Tori Lassman, Anna O'Connell, Chloe Hayat, and Gabriella Sprenkle out of a desire to continue producing  and sharing our own exciting works of theatre and media.

Chloé Hayat, co-founder of After-School Special Theatre and owner of a bloodstained fragment of Abraham Lincoln's deathbed. Her favorite theatrical production she's ever seen was: "A Public Reading of an Unproduced Screenplay About the Death of Walt Disney" by Lucas Hnath at SoHo Rep in 2013 The worst role she ever played was: Cheerleader #2 in "Like You Like It" a musical rendition of Shakespeare's "As You Like It" set in a magical mall in the 80's.
